German Military Settler Marriages in England, on board ship or in South Africa

Whereas "An Act for removing all Doubts, regarding the validity of the marriages of certain Military Settlers" was passed in the last Session of Parliament, numbered 13, of 1857; and whereas, under, and by virtue of the said Act, a Proclamation was issued by me on the 22nd July, 1857 to which was annexed a Schedule of Marriages contracted by the German Military Settlers; and whereas, in said Schedule, certain orthographical errors have occurred in some of the names of the married couples; and whereas it is expedient that the names of those persons be published correctly: Now therefore, I do, by this Proclamation, declare and make known that each man named as a husband in the Schedule annexed to this Proclamation, and respectively numbered in the order in which the names incorrectly spelled appeared in the Schedule to my Proclamation of the 22 July last, is married to the woman whose name is, as his wife, set opposite, in the said Schedule, to the name of such man, and that the marriage of every such husband and wife is now, and has been at all times since the solemnization thereof, a legal, valid, and effectual marriage, to all intents and purposes. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN !
